Toyota Corolla Cross Nasu Dons a Snazzy Wrap and Body Kit for SEMA
The Nasu concept takes its name from a Japanese mountain range and is prepared for outdoor adventures with a lifted ride and versatile roof rack.
- Toyota has revealed the Corolla Cross Hybrid Nasu Edition, a concept for the 2025 SEMA show.
- The Nasu Edition wears a purple wrap and a handsome body kit, with wider wheel arches and yellow tow hooks in the bumper.
- Toyota also included all-terrain tires, a suspension lift, a roof rack with a cargo basket, and a refrigerator in the cargo area.

Toyota offers a hybrid powertrain in every single one of its many SUV models, from the colossal Sequoia to the retro-styled Land Cruiser and even the subcompact Corolla Cross. Now, Toyota is infusing the latter with more style and all-terrain capability, unveiling the flashy Corolla Cross Hybrid Nasu Edition concept ahead of the 2025 SEMA show, which kicks off in Las Vegas on November 4.
Toyota says the Corolla Cross concept is inspired by Mount Nasu, a majestic group of mountains in Nikkō National Park in Japan. That area, Toyota says, is known for “hiking, hot springs, and outdoor adventure,” so the Nasu Edition aims to cater to the needs of adventurous visitors with a series of off-road upgrades and extra equipment.Toyota
The Nasu Edition rides on custom Toyota truck wheels shod in Toyo Open Country A/T III tires, and the Corolla Cross has also been fitted with a custom suspension lift to give the little SUV a more aggressive stance. Adding to the bolder appearance is a body kit that includes wider black wheel arches, a hood scoop, and a restyled bumper with silver trim that houses yellow-painted tow hooks.Toyota
Toyota also outfitted the Corolla Cross with upgraded hardware, with rock sliders below the doors and a roof rack that includes a cargo basket. Auxiliary lighting can be found with the thin rectangular lights and Rigid-branded fog lights in the front bumper, while Toyota also included custom illuminated door sills and puddle lamps. The tailgate lifts up to reveal a custom drawer system and a refrigerator, along with a huge JBL speaker and a fire extinguisher.
The Nasu Edition is unmissable thanks to its dazzling wrap, which transitions between purple and orange depending on which angle you look at it, with the purple hue apparently a reference to the fact that “nasu” means “eggplant” in Japanese.Toyota
The powertrain is unchanged, with a 2.0-liter inline-four mated to three electric motors for 196 horsepower. In Car and Driver testing, the Corolla Cross Hybrid needed 7.3 seconds to reach 60 mph, although the tires and extra equipment on the Nasu Edition would likely affect that result, along with the 42-mpg combined rating from the EPA.
The concept was created by the Service Parts and Accessories Development, so while this may just be a concept for now, some of the parts seen here could perhaps one day end up as an available add-on for Toyota’s small hybrid crossover.
Audi Made the Concept C Street-Legal and Let Some People Drive It
The electric concept car with two seats and a retractable roof that’s destined to go on sale sometime in 2027 is more than a showpiece.By Eric StaffordPublished: Oct 21, 2025Save Article

- The Audi Concept C was revealed last month, and it has since taken to the streets of Europe.
- Along with releasing new photos, Audi has let some auto journalists drive the street-legal concept car.
- While Audi is still deciding what to name the production version, we know that it will look very similar to the concept when it goes on sale in 2027.
We already knew that Audi’s stunning Concept C will look a lot like the forthcoming production model, but we’re surprised to learn that the concept car is already out driving on public roads. The news comes as Audi today revealed new photos of the Concept C—a two-seat electric sports car—roaming around Europe with all the necessary equipment to be street-legal.

From the photos we can see that the Concept C has license plates on the front and back as well as windshield wipers. The concept also has turn signals and a horn, according to Autocar, who had an opportunity to drive the concept in the Italian Dolomites. It’s clear from their experience as well as the YouTube video below that the one-of-one car isn’t just a rolling showpiece.

I am driving the Audi that defines the future!

From zero-to-62-mph launches to 90-degree turns, the rear-drive concept gave some auto journalists a little taste of what’s to come. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner reportedly told Autocar that while it was really complicated to make the one-off concept car street-legal, albeit with a prototype designation, it was worth it to further help with development of the production car. Döllner also told the outlet that the concept has a top speed of about 90 mph and that a dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant will eventually pair with the rear-drive configuration.
Along with a 101.1-inch wheelbase, the Concept C measures 178 inches long and 77.6 inches wide. For comparison, a Porsche 911 is roughly the same length but has a notably smaller waistline. It’s expected that Audi’s electric sports car will share a platform with the upcoming Porsche 718 EVs. Its battery sits between the passengers and the rear drive unit, which helps provide a lower ride height versus EVs that use a skateboard-like platform. Audi claims the concept weighs 3726 pounds.

Despite some people getting to spend time behind the wheel, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the production version of the Concept C. For one thing, Audi hasn’t yet decided what to call it, though the automaker tocay shared images of it alongside the original Audi TT and Audi R8 supercar. Of course, its name and more detailed technical information will be announced sometime before the real car goes on sale in 2027.
Toyota Will Build a Baby Land Cruiser, but the New FJ Isn’t for America
This adorable SUV has some off-road chops and looks like the larger Land Cruiser, though it’s barely bigger than a Corolla Cross.By Brendan McAleerPublished: Oct 21, 2025Save Article

- Toyota has revealed the smallest member of its off-road-ready family, the Land Cruiser FJ.
- Based on the Hilux, this little SUV has elements that might make it as tough as its mighty 70 Series ancestor.
- Will the baby Land Rover be sold in North America? Don’t hold your breath.
Just in time for Halloween trick or treating, Toyota is bringing back the retro-modern looks of the FJ Cruiser, except in fun-size form. Essentially a Muppet Babies Edition of the full-size Land Cruiser sold in the United States, the new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ rides on the same IMV platform as the current Hilux, Toyota’s global pickup truck offering.
Eleven inches shorter, with a wheelbase just over 101 inches long, this new kawaii off-roader is the runt of the Land Cruiser brood, but in a good way. It’s 180.1 inches long, 77.2 inches wide, and stands just over six feet tall. Toyota doesn’t list ground clearance, but judging from the pictures, it should be nearly as scrappy in the dirt as its bigger brothers. Toyota notes that the wheel articulation is equivalent to the old 70 Series, this FJ’s near-indestructible grandpa.

Under the hood is a 2.7-liter inline-four with 161 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a six-speed automatic, and there’s part-time four-wheel drive. Toyota also says additional bracing under the floor helps make it tougher off-road, and the front and rear bumper covers are removable if you misjudge an approach and scrape things up. It’s all extremely adorable and bears more than a passing resemblance to the family SUV on Bluey. But will that pint-sized charisma make it to this side of the Pacific? Toyota says there are no plans for European or American sales. Let’s go toilet-paper their global HQ.
For now, North American Toyota offerings will be restricted to models on the brand’s TNGA platform, which are at least fairly broad. Buyers do still have a choice of a Land Cruiser or a 4Runner, along with multiple trims of the Tacoma pickup. Toyota does even sell the latter with a genuine six-speed manual, despite a pretty meager take rate.

Still, the heart always wants what it can’t have. This new Land Cruiser FJ embodies the spirit of small-but-proper SUVs like the Suzuki Samurai, and it’s more usefully sized than the likes of a Jimny, which is actually sold in the Mexican market. C’mon Toyota, it’s October. Surely the world deserves a little off-road treat.
