Here Is Every Convertible You Can Buy in 2024
Whether you’re shopping for an affordable drop-top or an all-out luxury cruiser, here are all the ways to get a little wind in your hair.
There’s something truly freeing about the rush of a top-down driving experience. Fortunately, the love for open-air driving is so universal that there’s a convertible option across myriad makes, models, and price points. While a handful of high-end luxury cars and exotics fall into the category, many of the convertibles listed below are available for less than $50,000. Without further ado, here’s a look at every convertible car you can buy in 2024.

2024 Aston Martin DB12 Volante
While the days of screaming V-12-powered Aston Martins are largely behind us, the general foundation for the legendary British sports car remains the same. High-class and high-performance meet when the 2024 DB12 Volante and its 671-horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 pins you squarely into its elegant leather upholstery with a 0–60 sprint of just 3.5 seconds. One might consider putting the roof up before chasing after its 202-mph top speed, but in all fairness, with its starting MSRP around $265,000, you’ll want to use every last bit of its capabilities.

2024 Aston Martin DB12 Volante | Specifications
- Base Price: $265,000
- Layout: Front-engine, rear-wheel-drive
- Engine: 4.0L twin-turbo V-8
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 15/22 mpg

2024 Audi A5 Cabriolet
The 2024 Audi A5 offers a styling upgrade for those disinterested in the “standard sedan” styling of the A3 and A4. In addition, the A5 and its higher-performance S5 sibling are now the only convertible models Audi offers thanks to the discontinuation of the R8. With a starting price of just under $55,000 in its cheapest Premium Quattro trim, the A5 Cabriolet offers a decently affordable entry into a convertible luxury car. In addition, its equally decent power output of 261 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque via its 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four was peppy enough to keep us entertained during our testing. Moreover, it’s decently efficient with a fuel economy rating of 26/35 mpg city/highway. (Note: a 2023 European spec model is pictured)

2024 Audi A5 Cabriolet | Specifications
- Base Price: $54,900
- Layout: Front-engine, all-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0L turbo I-4
- Transmission: 7-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 26/35 mpg

2024 Audi S5 Cabriolet
Audi drop-top excitement really starts with the S5 Cabriolet, which shares its platform with the A5 but bumps power output up to 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque thanks to its 3.0-liter turbo V-6. Its stiffer suspension compared to the A5 drastically improved handling in our testing. However, opting for the S5 moves the starting MSRP to $65,400. As you might expect, adding all this power and performance does come with a penalty in fuel efficiency. (Note: a 2022 model is pictured)

2024 Audi S5 Cabriolet | Specifications
- Base Price: $65,400
- Layout: Front-engine, all-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0L turbo V-6
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 21/29 mpg

2024 Bentley Continental GTC
With the demise of the Rolls-Royce Dawn, the absolute pinnacle of convertible luxury is the the 2024 Bentley Continental GTC. The “entry-level” Continental GTC is powered by a potent 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 with 542 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. On the opposite end, the high-end Mulliner trim of the GTC, which sports Bentley’s twin-turbo W-12 for a total output of 626 horsepower. Jumping from the base price of $267,000 to $391,100 for the Mulliner does take advantage of the final chance to buy a W-12-powered Bentley, as the brand announced it will discontinue the 12-cylinder powerplant after the 2024 model year. For those who miss out, a twin-turbo V-8 with 542 horsepower is a pretty good way to heal the soul during grieving.

2024 Bentley Continental GTC | Specifications
- Base Price: $267,000
- Layout: Front-engine, all-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.0L twin-turbo V-8, 6.0L twin-turbo W-12
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 14/21 mpg

2024 BMW 4 Series Convertible
It’s no secret the 2024 BMW 4 Series is a phenomenal driving experience virtually regardless of the trim level. The base 430i convertible sports 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque and solid fuel economy ratings of 25/34 mpg city/highway for the rear-drive model and 23/33 mpg for the all-wheel-drive variant. Stepping up to the M440i drop-top gets you a twin-turbo inline-six with 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque and a 0–60-mph sprint in 4.0 seconds in our testing.

2024 BMW 4 Series Convertible | Specifications
- Base Price: $58,100
- Layout: Front-engine, rear-/all-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0L turbo I-4, 3.0L turbo I-6
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 22-25/30-34 mpg

2024 BMW M4 Competition xDrive Convertible
The 2024 BMW M4 convertible is available solely in the top-trim Competition xDrive format. With 503 horsepower in the hopped-up Competiton form, a 0–60-mph sprint in 3.0 seconds (in hard-top trim), and iconic M-sport handling, it’s the epitome of convertible Bimmer performance—the ultimate top-down sports car driving machine, if you will. That said, you will pay handsomely for the open air experience, as the M4 Convertible comes with a hefty starting price tag of $93,300. (Note: the 2025 BMW M4 Competition convertible is pictured)

2024 BMW M4 Competition xDrive Convertible | Specifications
- Base Price: $93,300
- Layout: Front-engine, all-wheel-drive
- Engine: 3.0L twin turbo I-6
- Transmission: Eight-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 16/23 mpg

2024 BMW 8 Series Convertible
On the luxury-oriented side of BMW lands the 8 Series. Like the 4 Series, the 2024 BMW 8 Series offers a roof-off experience for its two-door models. But unlike the 4 Series, the 8 Series focuses more on higher-end luxury and grand touring comfort. That doesn’t mean they’re slow, however. The starting point for the lineup, the 840i, still packs 335 horsepower from its 3.0-liter turbo I-6 and a 0–60 time under five seconds. It’s available in rear- or all-wheel drive, while the next step up, the M850i, comes with AWD standard. With 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft courtesy of a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8, it hits 60 in under four seconds.

2024 BMW 8 Series Convertible | Specifications
- Base Price: $93,300.
- Layout: Front-engine, rear-/all-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0L turbo I-6, 4.4L twin-turbo V-8
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 17-21/24-29 mpg

2024 BMW M8 Competition xDrive Convertible
At the top of the topless 8 Series food chain sits the 2024 BMW M8 Competition xDrive convertible, powered by a bruising, 617-horsepower version of the V-8 found in the M850i xDrive. It offers the best of both worlds when it comes to grand touring and track capability. With a starting price of $148,800, it’s a pretty substantial jump from the rest of the 8 Series lineup. In our testing, the driving experience was phenomenal, and it’s remarkably smooth and comfortable for a true, M-badged car. Almost too comfortable, in fact. (Note: a 2023 model is pictured)

2024 BMW M8 Competition xDrive Convertible | Specifications
- Base Price: $148,800
- Layout: Front-engine, all-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.4L twin-turbo V-8
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 15/22 mpg

2024 BMW Z4
The smaller convertible offering from BMW, the 2024 BMW Z4, certainly looks the part of an exciting German roadster, but in truth it’s proved to be a slightly underwhelming machine, performance wise. The added availability of a manual transmission for the 2024 model year goes a long way toward getting back some authentic sports car points, though. Even the entry-level sDrive30i and its 255-horsepower turbo I-4 offer healthy pickup with an EPA rating of 25/34 mpg city/highway. The more potent M40i trim, with a 382-hp I-6, still manages 23/31 mpg city/highway. Pricing for these Z4 models starts at $53,600 and $66,300, respectively.

2024 BMW Z4 | Specifications
- Base Price: $53,600
- Layout: Front-engine, rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0L turbo I-4, 3.0L turbo I-6
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic, 6-speed manual
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 21-23/31-33 mpg

2024 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible
Not only is 2024 the final year you’ll be able to buy a convertible Camaro, but it’s also the final year you’ll be able to buy a Camaro in general. Chevrolet announced the legendary pony car is getting the ax at the end of the 2024 model year. The Camaro certainly went out with a bang, as the final Camaro to leave the assembly line was a ZL1 1LE with a six-speed manual transmission. While no more will be produced, the 2024 Chevy Camaro is still on sale (while supplies last!), so acting fast is recommended. Fortunately, the Camaro is available as a convertible across the entirety of the lineup. If you’re not quite in a position to pull the trigger on a $78,100 650-hp ZL1 convertible, the V-6-powered 1LT and its humble yet respectable 335-hp 3.6-liter V-6 may be more attainable thanks to its $36,900 starting price. (Note: a 2023 model is pictured)
2024 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible | Specifications
- Base Price: $36,900
- Layout: Front-engine, rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.6L V-6, 6.2L V-8
- Transmission: 6-speed manual, 10-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 13-18/21-29 mpg

2024 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
The Chevrolet Corvette, thankfully, shows no signs of joining its fallen Camaro brother. Much like the Camaro, the entirety of the 2024 Corvette’s lineup is available with a convertible top, including the screaming flat-plane V-8 Z06 and the electric-assisted AWD E-Ray variants. The cost of entry starts at a cool $75,300 for the standard Stingray 1LT convertible C8 Corvette model, with its almighty 6.2-liter LT2 V-8 good for 490 hp. The 5.5-liter LT6 V-8 planted in the middle of the Z06 convertible (which starts at $117,100) retains its title as the most powerful naturally aspirated production engine in history with 670 horsepower. Finally, combining the LT2 V-8 with a hybrid drivetrain in the E-Ray convertible comes with a starting price tag of $111,900. It goes without saying, but any C8 Corvette is a supercar-challenging bargain. (Note: a 2023 70th Anniversary convertible is shown)

2024 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible | Specifications
- Base Price: $75,300
- Layout: Mid-engine, rear-/all-wheel drive
- Engine: 6.2L V-8, 6.2L V-8 plus electric motor, 5.5L V-8
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 12-16/19-25 mpg

Ferrari Convertible Lineup
Considering the first Ferrari ever, the 125 S, was a convertible, it only makes sense that the Prancing Horse’s open-top legacy lives on, with virtually the entire present Ferrari lineup available in convertible form. Ferrari’s drop-top options span the gamut from “entry-level” models like the Ferrari 296 to the hardcore SF90 (the even harder core SF90XX Spider was also just revealed, but it’s already sold out). Here are the Ferraris that have recently been or are presently on sale for the monied few who can afford them and have the patience to wait sometimes for years to have one delivered. 2023 Ford Bronco.
2024 Ford Bronco
The 2024 Ford Bronco isn’t a convertible in the traditional sense, but it’s one of the most exciting and versatile ways to get that open-air experience. After all, you wouldn’t dare take the doors off a BMW M8 Competition convertible and hit the trails. The entry-level 2024 Ford Bronco Big Bend starts at $39,130 or $39,870 depending on whether you want two or four doors. It’s available with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 with 300 hp and 325 lb-ft on premium gas and, to enthusiasts’ joy, an optional seven-speed manual transmission. Stepping up to the more potent 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 nets you 330 hp and 415 lb-ft but drops the fuel economy and the manual option. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the 2024 Ford Bronco Raptor offers a drop-top experience for the ages with its 418-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6 and off-road-racing-derived suspension. With 15/16 mpg city/highway, though, it’ll require frequent fuel stops—and with a base price of $89,835, it’ll require a hefty bank account, too. (Note: 2022 and 2023 models shown)

2024 Ford Bronco | Specifications
- Base Price: $39,130
- Layout: Front-engine, four-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.3L turbo I-4, 2.7L twin-turbo V-6
- Transmission: 7-speed manual, 10-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 15-20/16-21 mpg

2024 Ford Mustang Convertible
The 2024 model year brought us the first Mustang redesign since 2015. An open-top Mustang is as American as apple pie, so it makes sense that the 2024 Ford Mustang has a convertible option across the entire lineup (save the Dark Horse). The EcoBoost four-cylinder option offers one of the most affordable convertible experiences you can buy, with a starting price of $39,020. It’s no slouch, either; with 315 hp and 350 lb-ft on tap, it can sprint to 60 in under five seconds. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the potent GT Premium convertible starts at $51,515. With the staple 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 under the hood making 486 hp and 418 lb-ft, it certainly has the power. That said, our experience behind the wheel of the 2024 Mustang GT convertible showed some noticeable chassis flexing through road imperfections and a slightly lackluster steering feel compared to the coupe.

2024 Ford Mustang Convertible | Specifications
- Base Price: $39,020
- Layout: Front-engine, rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.3L turbo I-4, 5.0L V-8
- Transmission: 6-speed manual, 10-speed automatic
- Fuel Economy (city/hwy): 14-22/22-33 mpg
